5. Rental Applications & Tenancy Databases (Queensland)

As part of the rental application process, we may use tenancy databases, including TICA, to check an applicant’s rental history.

Tenancy databases may contain personal information about tenancy defaults or alleged defaults.
Where we use a tenancy database:

  • we comply with Queensland tenancy legislation and fair practice guidelines
  • we take reasonable steps to ensure information is accurate, relevant and lawful
  • individuals may request access to information held about them in a tenancy database directly from the database operator

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to:

  • property owners or lessors
  • buyers or sellers involved in a transaction
  • tenancy database operators (including TICA, where applicable)
  • referees, employers and previous agents/lessors
  • contractors and trades for property-related services
  • service providers supporting our business (IT systems, CRMs, accounting, payment processors, marketing platforms)
  • government bodies, regulators, tribunals or law enforcement where required or authorised by law

We do not sell personal information.

7. Overseas Storage and Disclosure

Some service providers we use (such as cloud-based software and email platforms) may store or process personal information on servers located outside Australia.
Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate privacy safeguards are in place in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

For Queensland rental matters, personal information relating to a tenancy is securely destroyed within 7 years after the tenancy ends, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
